The Firstborn Of All Creation

Previously, I've been exposing the reality that we were created in and through Christ, meaning we can not exist outside of God or separate from Him. I want to continue wandering down this road.
"He is the portrait, the true likeness of the invisible God, and the firstborn heir of all creation. For in him was created the universe of things, both in the heavenly realm and on the earth, all that is seen and all that is unseen. Every seat of power, realm of government, principality, and authority-it all exists through him and for his purpose! He existed before anything was made, and now everything finds completion in him."
-Colossians 1:15-17 TPT
He is the firstborn heir of all things. I understand this to mean that not only is He the first in line, the first in lineage, and the first in importance but that He is the heir. In other words He will receive all things for all things/people are His!
All things were created in Him and all things exist through Him. This is what Paul preached to the pagans at Athens that we looked at in the previous post. We have our very origin IN Christ! He is the firstborn and we are the laterborn, as it were. He came first, John the Baptist said, because He was before us. After Him we came to be IN Him! Can you tell I don't understand it? Oh, but I do believe it! Listen to this verse...
"We have become his poetry, a re-created (created in Christ Jesus NKJV) people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the works we would do to fulfill it!"

I love how The Passion Translation renders the second phrase, "a re-created people"!
